The UI inventory process has revealed a multitude of challenges within the Sas.am website, with a significant number of components displaying issues in both user experience and visual and content aspects. Recognizing the extent of these problems, the team is now poised to address and rectify these issues comprehensively. This discovery underscores the importance of implementing improvements to enhance both the usability and overall aesthetic quality of the website.
In the course of our endeavors, we have successfully laid the groundwork for a robust design system for Sas.am, encompassing foundational elements, components, and meticulous documentation. In the foundational layer, we have implemented tokens to standardize colors, values, and styles, fostering a unified visual identity throughout the product. The meticulous detailing extends to each component, where precise specifications for states, sizes, and other parameters have been delineated.
Recognizing the multifaceted nature of our team, which includes programmers, project managers, quality assurance professionals, and others, we have invested in comprehensive documentation. This documentation serves as a singular source of truth, ensuring clarity and consistency in understanding the intricacies of each component. The intent is to provide a seamless collaborative environment where all team members can easily interpret and implement design elements.
Crucially, our decision to create a design system is grounded in the unique context of Sas.am being a multibrand company with diverse brands. This strategic move is poised to deliver tangible benefits by not only rectifying existing issues but also by providing a scalable and adaptable solution for future developments. The design system is envisioned as a linchpin for harmonizing the user experience across the various brands under the Sas.am umbrella, establishing a coherent and visually appealing identity that resonates with the company's overarching vision.
